Presentation

  1. Invite the child to the lesson. 
  2. Explain that the child will learn how to sit in a chair and pull themselves with the chair under the table. Ask the child to watch. 
  3. Sit up straight in the chair. 
  4. With your left hand, grab the left side of the seat. Pause, look at the child. 
  5. With your right hand, grab the right side of the seat. Pause, look at the child. 
  6. Lean your upper body forward. Pause, look at the child. 
  7. Holding this position, raise your bottom about four inches above the chair. Pause, look at the child. 
  8. Holding this position, stand up with bended knees and leaning forward. Pause, look at the child. 
  9. Take very small, slow steps forward. 
  10. Keep moving until your legs are under the table and your chest is about four inches away from the edge of the table. Pause, look at the child.
  11. Set down the front two legs. Pause, look at the child. 
  12. Set down the rear two legs.
