Presentation

  1. Invite the child to the lesson. 
  2. Explain that the child will learn how to place a chair under the table. Ask the child to watch. 
  3. Place your subdominant hand around the left stile of the chair. Pause, look at the child. 
  4. Place your dominant hand around the right stile of the chair. Pause, look at the child. 
  5. Raise chair about four inches off the ground. Pause, look at the child. 
  6. While holding the chair, slowly move towards the table until the top rail is about two inches away from the table. Pause, look at the child. 
  7. Set one leg down. Pause, look at the child. 
  8. Set down the leg next to the one already touching the floor. Pause, look at the child. 
  9. Set down the last two legs simultaneously.

Exercise

Same as presentation.

Points of Interest

Watching to see if the chair is placed under the table without bumping into the table or making noise.

Independence, concentration, control of movement.
